We train and support a network of foresters who manage forests as ecosystems—benefiting birds, biodiversity, and long-term forest health and resiliency. Quality habitat for birds and other wildlife remains one of the top management objectives for northeast forest landowners, and Ä¢¹½Av is excited to assist consulting, agency, industry, and procurement foresters in meeting these objectives through our Ä¢¹½Av Forester Training and Endorsement Program, active here in Vermont and five other states.
We are building a network that connects foresters with landowners interested in stewarding their woods with birds in mind. By earning an Ä¢¹½Av endorsement, foresters gain practical skills and experience implementing bird-friendly forest management strategies. Our program principles can be applied to both private and public lands and are compatible with many objectives, including timber production, water quality, recreation, and carbon sequestration, allowing foresters and landowners to meet multiple management goals.
